Refund and Cancellation Policy

How cancelling, refunds, failed payments, and plan changes work for paid subscriptions to The Intent Ledger.

Last updated: 30 July 2026

The Intent Ledger is operated by Rajas Patwardhan (ABN 21 530 398 389) trading as The Intent Ledger, a sole trader based in South Australia, Australia. This page describes our billing practice in plain language — it is not legal advice, and it should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Cancelling

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through Manage billing on your dashboard.
  • Cancelling is not instant — it is scheduled for the end of your current billing period.
  • Your access continues through the paid-through date shown in Manage billing.
  • There is no separate cancellation or early-termination fee.

2. Refunds

Except where required by law or expressly stated, fees already paid are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind cancellations — cancelling does not itself entitle you to a refund for the remainder of your current billing period.

This is not an absolute rule. If you believe you were charged in error, or a payment failure or service failure on our side affected you, contact support@theintentledger.com and we will assess the request on its circumstances.

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Failed payments

  • If a scheduled payment fails, Stripe automatically retries the charge on its own schedule.
  • We do not currently hold paid-plan access open during a failed payment — access is paused as soon as the payment is reported as failed, and there is no separate grace period on our side.
  • Access is restored automatically as soon as a payment succeeds, whether through Stripe's retry or after you update your payment method.
  • You can update your payment method at any time through Manage billing on your dashboard.

4. Plan changes

At this stage of launch, you manage your subscription through Stripe's Manage billing portal. Self-serve plan switching may not yet be available inside the product. Contact support if you would like to change plans — we do not promise a specific proration behavior that has not yet been implemented.

5. After cancellation

  • Cancellation does not automatically delete your existing ILM Records or Project Memory.
  • Your ability to create new ILM Records changes according to your effective entitlement after cancellation.
  • Audit and billing records may remain after cancellation, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Deleting your account or data entirely is a separate request — see our Privacy Policy for how to make one.

7. Policy updates

We may revise this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our service, our billing provider, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy, without affecting any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
